GAT 031 TREE TOP HOTEL 1½ Days

There are three 'Tree top hotels' in the vicinity of Nyeri about I60 Kms north of Nairobi. Treetops and the Ark are in the forests of the Aberdare mountains and Mountain lodge is on the slope of Mt. Kenya. -

Day 1 Nairobi - Tree Top Hotel
The drive passes the small town of Thika surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations. After crossing the Tana River, source of Kenya's hydropower, the landscape changes and becomes more lush as you climb into the rich farmlands of the kikuyu people. Lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel in Nyeri, in the case of visitors to treetops and mountain Lodge and the Aberdare country club in the case of the Ark. In the afternoon proceed to your Tree Top hotel where the night is spent and where a procession of forest animals visits the floodlit water holes and saltlicks. Elephant, rhino, buffalo, giant Forest hog and many other species are commonly seen.

Day 2 Tree Top Hotel - Nairobi
In the morning descend to your base hotel before returning to Nairobi in time for lunch. Back
