GAT 035: NAIROBI - SAMBURU 4 Days
Day 1 Nairobi - Mount Kenya National Park
Drive through farmlands before reaching the foothills of Mt. Kenya where coffee is grown. Arrive at your base hotel for lunch. Afterwards drive through the forest to reach your hotel watching the never ending pageant of wildlife which visits the floodlit water hole and saltlick below. Dinner and overnight at Mount Lodge (Tree Hotel).
Day 2 Mount Kenya - Samburu
After breakfast continue northwards, skirting the mass of Mount Kenya, to reach Samburu National Reserve for lunch. In the afternoon a game drive affords the opportunity to see certain northern species of game not seen south of the equator. These include the resplendent reticulated giraffe, grevy's Zebra and Somali Ostrich. Overnight at lodge or camp in the Reserve.
Day 3 Samburu - Mount Kenya Safari Club
A morning game drive in this wild but splendid Reserve. Continue to luxurious Mount Kenya Safari Club whose immaculately manicured gardens nestle on the frosted slopes of the mountain. The afternoon is free to enjoy the numerous option facilities of the club which include horse riding, tennis, golf, bowls, swimming or just luxuriating in the comfort and beauty of your surroundings. Overnight at the Club.
Day 4 Mount Kenya - Nairobi
After another restful morning return to Nairobi via Nyeri where lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel. Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scout movement spent the years at the Outspan and is buried in Nyeri cemetery'. Reach Nairobi in the early evening. Back
